BREAKING NEW GROUND
ENGINEERING
Athletics Building
The athletics building was plumbed with a total of 53 showers for the boy’s and girl’s locker rooms. The high hot water demand was met with a 2750 gallon hot water heating plant powered by two Nyle C250 heat pump water heaters.
Cafeteria Building
The cafeteria building has a 3000 sq/ft commercial kitchen plumbed with over 50 fixtures and twin 120 gallon commercial electric water heaters. The high occupancy of the building required large boy’s and girl’s restrooms with strict tolerances on fixture locations.
WORKING SMARTER
The majority of the DWV and copper water piping systems for the projects were pre-fabricated offsite. Our fab shop piping and hangers rods for the Cast Iron DWV & copper water piping to length utilizing a Tigerstop CNC saw system. Utilizing a CNC saw cut material waste and increased our material efficiency to over 98%. After cutting, system components were packaged and palletized by building and distributed to the site. Each package contained the necessary fittings, pipe and hangers and shop drawings for assembly onsite. Prefabricating components offsite allowed for smoother and faster installation onsite.
